Salute review ~ Not Impressive

Cinegola rating: *___Avoidable (1 star)

Tagline: Police man versus Political man

Strengths: Upendra and Vishal

Weaknesses: story, screenplay and direction….what not everything other than the above two

Must see scenes:

1. Upendra performance in jail

Must avoid scenes:

1. All the fight sequences and if possible the total movie is avoidable

My analysis: The concept of the movie is good but the treatment is bad. The director wanted to say that it is the duty of Police officials to put an end to the corruption of politicians. He also wanted to say that killing a criminal in an encounter is not the answer for stopping crime.

Director A Rajasekhar fell flat in showing the concept. He went in the right way till some extent but lost track in the middle and ended nowhere. He made a very bad movie on sinciere police. The director wanted to show the hero in a larger than life police man role which was a real bad idea. Because of this Salute movie is a 3 hour torture for the audience.

Performances: Vishal did a very good performance in the role of a sinciere police officer. His six pack body is the main asset for the role. He looked good in the police officer’s role. Vishal also went to the extent of shaving his head off to bring naturality and emotion to his performance.

Upendra as a sinciere police man turned killer was the highlight of the movie. His role was a guest role put created the much needed impact in the movie. He did a good performance in the jail scene. It was also nice to see Upendra as a police officer after a long time.

Nayanatara had nothing to do in the film except to expose her assets. She did the same thing of exposing which she was doing in last few films.

Kota Srinivas Rao as the corrupt politician was good in his role. His assistants were also adequate in their roles.

Brahmanandam and Ali were wasted in the movie.

Music by Harris Jayaraj is another backdrop for the movie. Only the introductory song and the background music for Upendra are good. All the songs are bad.

Stunts by Stun Shiva are too much. All the fights were un-natural and depicted the hero in a larger than life role. This was one more back drop for the movie.

Story, screenplay and direction by A Rajasekhar is totally wasted. There is nothing to talk about these three departments because they are totally bad and miserable.

Story: ACP Satyam (Vishal) is a sincere police officer who fights crime and corruption single handedly. Kota Srinivas Rao is a home minister who eyes for the chief minister seat. Suddenly three ministers are killed by Pratap Rudra (Upendra) who was once an ex-cop and Satyam arrests him. Then he comes to know about the reality of home minister and other politicians and starts fighting against them. How ACP Satyam brought these criminals infront of law and the difficulties he faced during the process forms the remaining part of the story.

Cast: Vishal, Nayanatara, Upendra, Kota Srinivas Rao, Sudha Chandran, Ali and others

Banner: GK Film Corporation

Music: Harris Jayaraj

Stunts: Stun Shiva

Producer: Vikram Krishna

Story, Screenplay & Direction: A Rajasekhar

Final Judgement: Flop
